Ex-NSA Director, US Intelligence Veterans Write Open Letter To Merkel To Avoid All-Out Ukraine War

‘We the undersigned are longtime veterans of U.S. intelligence. We take the unusual step of writing this open letter to you to ensure that you have an opportunity to be briefed on our views prior to the NATO summit on September 4-5.
You need to know, for example, that accusations of a major Russian “invasion” of Ukraine appear not to be supported by reliable intelligence. Rather, the “intelligence” seems to be of the same dubious, politically “fixed” kind used 12 years ago to “justify” the U.S.-led attack on Iraq. We saw no credible evidence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq then; we see no credible evidence of a Russian invasion now. Twelve years ago, former Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, mindful of the flimsiness of the evidence on Iraqi WMD, refused to join in the attack on Iraq. In our view, you should be appropriately suspicions of charges made by the US State Department and NATO officials alleging a Russian invasion of Ukraine.’

Ukraine defense minister warns of ‘great war’ in Europe

‘Ukrainian Defense Minister Valeriy Geletey has warned of an impending “great war” in Europe as the conflict escalates between Ukraine, backed by its Western allies, and Russia.
“A great war has arrived at our doorstep — the likes of which Europe has not seen since World War II. Unfortunately, the losses in such a war will be measured not in the hundreds but thousands and tens of thousands,” Geletey wrote in a message posted on his Facebook page on Monday.
He further claimed that “hundreds of Russian soldiers and officers have permanently entered Ukraine’s (eastern) ‘black earth’ region.” Geletey made the comments a day after alleging that Russian troops were moving in the main cities of Lugansk and Donetsk.’

‘We’re not kidnappers. We took our son because cruel NHS let us down’: Father of five-year-old with brain tumour explains why he fled to Spain

‘The parents of Ashya King, the five-year-old boy who was taken out of hospital against doctors’ orders, have been arrested after they were found with their son in Spain.
Hampshire Police said King and his parents were pulled over in their family car by Malaga police at 9pm UK time on Saturday.
Police said the young boy, who has a brain tumour and requires extensive medical care, showed “no visible signs of distress” and has been taken to hospital.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead of Hampshire Constabulary said Ashya’s parents, Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, were in custody after being arrested on a European arrest warrant. Police have 72 hours to question the pair before handing them over to a judge, who will then initiate extradition proceedures.’

G4S Guantanamo contract ‘breaches UK policy’

‘The government is being asked to take action against British firm G4S, after it emerged the company has won a £71m contract to provide a range of ‘base support’ services at Guantánamo Bay.
Legal charity Reprieve, which assists Guantánamo prisoners such as British resident Shaker Aamer, has submitted a dossier of evidence to the UK’s responsible business watchdog, the National Contact Point for the OECD Guidelines (UK NCP). The submission argues that by providing ‘essential’ services at the prison, G4S will be contravening British government policy that the prison must be closed, as well as the OECD’s guidelines for responsible business conduct.’

US broadcaster Mike Malloy wipes the floor with Israel apologists

‘Reasoning with a Zionist is an oxymoron. It is as self-contradictory as saying something is falsely true.
This, we have no doubt, is the conclusion everyone who has tried to have a rational, fact-based debate with Zionists would have drawn.
If that is also your experience – or if you have never had the misfortune of debating with a Zionist – then you will want to listen to the two short clips from Mike Malloy’s radio show.’

Second Genocide in Rwanda? Slow, Silent, and Systematic?

‘What is happening in Rwanda? On Aug. 26, the BBC reported that Burundian officials are investigating to determine why Rwandan bodies have been found floating in Lake Rweru, on Burundi’s border with Rwanda.
The discovery is not only gruesome but also ominous because both East African nations suffer from extremely volatile Hutu-Tutsi ethnic rivalries rooted in centuries of Hutu oppression by a feudal Tutsi aristocracy, which became a colonial elite in the 18th and 19th centuries.’
